Business Development Manager - The Hong Kong Jockey Club

The Job

Our Business Development (Special Projects) team focuses on the provision of consultancy services to overseas business partners which include the assessment of market potential, recommendation of sporting events/games and development of marketing strategy. In addition, the team manages the implementation of sports betting operations for identified business partners covering the set up of trading and operations capability, design of selling channels and launch of marketing campaigns.

You will
prepare implementation plan which includes organisation and system framework, operations and risk management control, and channel planning
formulate and develop high quality business proposition based on the identified business opportunities
develop betting products to satisfy customer needs and to optimise business performance
assist in product launches
About You

You should have

a degree in business related discipline
a minimum of 7 years' relevant and hands-on experience in implementing projects, preferably in a consumer-oriented environment
strong business acumen and problem solving skills
experience in implementing projects in China or Taiwan would be preferred such as rolling out a product launch in a consumer bank, telecom operator, consumer services company, or rolling out shops in a retail environment
a proactive and highly motivated character to drive project implementation and product launch
excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills in both English and Chinese; Mandarin is a plus but not an absolute must
knowledge in football and American sports preferably

Terms of Employment

The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. An initial three-year contract employment will be offered to the successful candidate with an option for renewal or conversion to career terms subject to mutual agreement between the Club and the individual.
